Hi everyone, got to the hosp. and in their sexy little gown only to have them cancel my surgery due to a low platelet count. So now their focus is off my back and on my blood. My doctor is worried that I might have Idiopathic thrombocytopenic purpura (ITP) again. It's a blood disorder where the immune system attacks and destroys the platelets in your body. The normal count is over 120K over the last 6 months mine have gone from 150K to 80ishK to 48K and today when they re red club dresses ... checked it, it came back at 32K. So here I am, my back still hurts, my left leg and foot are mostly numb and now I have this. I also found out today that all the little pinpoint red/purple dots and rash on my skin is one of the first signs of this. So I don't know when I'll be able to have the surgery or what they are going to do now. I may have to have a transfusion or a bone marrow biopsy (and those freaking things hurt like a SOB) I've had two.
